Indiana Fever defeated Connecticut Sun 84–80 on Wednesday, moving them one step closer to a postseason berth. With the win, the Fever were able to maintain their seventh-place standings and improved their record to 15-16, only one game below 500. Shooting guard Lexie Hull, the first player since Tamika Catchings to record 17 points, eight rebounds, and 4/6 from three-point range, stole the show from rookie star Caitlin Clark.

Following Indiana Fever's victory over the Sun, Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, and Caitlin Clark fielded questions from the media during the post-game press conference. Hull answered a question by saying she wanted to "get my hands on as many balls as I could," which caused Mitchell and Clark to start laughing.

Times like this bring back memories of Caitlin Clark's jovial demeanor, as seen by the lively conversation that ensued after Indiana's valiant victory over Connecticut on Wednesday night. You can see how Clark responded to Hull's statement right away. She seemed to have to confirm whether or not she heard that statement correctly. It was evident that Caitlin had other ideas totally, even though Lexie was talking about keeping her hands busy when playing defense.

After the interview, Clark did, in her defense, state that she "tried to hold it in." She wasn't very good at it, though, and she couldn't help but chuckle at Lexie Hull's statement's double meaning.

Caitlin Clark making history in WNBA

Clark made history in WNBA by being the first player to post at least 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists in six successive games. In just ten games, she scored at least 15 points and pulled down five rebounds, joining Diana Taurasi as the only other player in this elite group.

Clark finished the game with 19 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, further cemented her position as the most probable Rookie of the Year. She also created history by breaking the previous record held by Atlanta Dream rookie Rhyne Howard in 2022 with the most three-pointers made by a rookie in a season (86).
