Las Vegas Aces’ star forward A'ja Wilson made WNBA history in a commanding 84-71 win over the Connecticut Sun by becoming the first player to score 1,000 points in a single season. This achievement further cements Wilson’s legacy in the league, and it's caught the attention of not only fans and players but also Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo.

The NBA star, who has been linked to Wilson romantically, subtly congratulated her on social media, sparking even more curiosity about their rumoured relationship. Wilson’s landmark moment came late in the fourth quarter with a smooth fadeaway jumper from the elbow, a signature move for the 2022 WNBA MVP.

Following her basket, a timeout was called, allowing her Aces' teammates to celebrate her historic milestone by mobbing her on the court. After the game, she received the game ball in the presence of her parents, adding a personal touch to the monumental achievement.

Here are Adebayo’s hilarious tweets:

Bam Adebayo, who took to X (formerly known as Twitter), posted a subtle yet heartfelt message to congratulate Wilson. Though brief, the post added fuel to ongoing dating rumours between the two basketball stars. Fans were quick to speculate on the meaning behind Adebayo’s message, further linking the pair to the public eye.

A'ja Wilson eyes MVP title!

While Wilson continues to excel on the court, her contributions this season have been instrumental in the Aces’ successful campaign. With 1,000 points in a season and an average of 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game, she has become a leading contender for the MVP title once again.

Her rebounding dominance is second only to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese, who holds the record for most rebounds in a single season, though Wilson has the chance to surpass her. The Las Vegas Aces, chasing a third consecutive WNBA championship, are no strangers to high expectations.

The last team to achieve such a feat was the now-defunct Houston Comets. Fatigue and complacency often come into play after back-to-back titles, but Wilson’s incredible form suggests the Aces have a real shot at rewriting history.
