Angel Reese took to X and gave the fans an update on her wrist injury. The star rookie has been ruled out of the rest of the season. She recalled her journey as a debutant with Chicago Sky and felt it was meant to end the way it did. However, Reese added that she would be cheering her team to go the distance for the rest of the season.

Angel has had a sensational season as a rookie along with Caitlin Clark. In 34 games, the emerging player bagged a whopping 446 rebounds, the most for any rookie. She additionally claimed 26 double-doubles, just two short of Alyssa Thomas' record last season. Reese felt she had done enough to show that she belonged at the WNBA level.

The rookie claimed that she wanted to make an impact for the side every time she took the court. She hoped to do the same in the future. Angel got emotional as she recalled her maiden season in the WNBA. "I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season-ending injury but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next," wrote Reese on X.

'You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline' - Angel Reese

The Chicago Sky player felt God decided to give her a physical and mental break. Angel quoted that God gives the hardest battles to the strongest soldiers. She claimed that the injury ruined the rest of her season and hoped to see her team succeed. Angel Reese claimed she would be the biggest cheerleader for her team and claimed the WNBA to be an unrivalled league.

Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.” You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled League, see you soon! 💞😇," wrote Reese on X. Chicago Sky has already qualified for the WNBA 2024 playoffs.
