On Saturday night, rookie guard Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever achieved another incredible milestone in her brief WNBA career. Clark got her 500th point in her professional career on a pretty impressive step-back bucket as her team traveled to play the Minnesota Lynx. The WNBA Rookie of the Year front-runner Clark is becoming familiar with making history and reaching noteworthy milestones, but reaching 500 points in just 29 games is truly remarkable.

It will be interesting to watch where the rookie finishes in terms of stats after Indiana Fever season concludes this autumn, and we have no doubt that Clark has a ton more baskets waiting for him for the remainder of the regular season.

In 11 games, including four straight, Clark has scored 20 points or more and dished out five assists. Her averages of 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and second-best minutes played per game (35.2) top the league. Although not all of her turnovers are her fault, she leads the WNBA in this category, which is her one potential weakness. Nevertheless, she has been improving each game.

Cheryl Reeve lauded rookie guard Caitlin Clark

Before her team's matchup with the Indiana Fever on Saturday, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve lauded rookie guard Caitlin Clark of the Fever and the aspects of her game that set her apart. Reeve revealed what she truly values in Clark's game beyond his apparent ability to score 3-pointers, after first being reluctant to talk about Clark's absence from Team USA at the most recent Olympic Games (a decision she had no influence over).

If Reeve is still running the program by 2028, she'll probably be coaching Caitlin Clark on Team USA in Los Angeles. Seeing how she uses the superstar rookie to help win the gold one day would be interesting to see. It will be interesting to see where the rookie ends up statistically when the Fever season ends this autumn, and we're sure that Clark has a ton more baskets in store for the rest of the regular season.
