Anthony Davis leads Los Angeles Lakers to defeat Washington Wizards marking their eighth win

On Wednesday night Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers scored 38 points as Los Angeles Lakers won against Washington Wizards 125-120 marking their eighth win in nine games.

On Wednesday night Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers scored 38 points as Los Angeles Lakers won against Washington Wizards 125-120 marking their eighth win in nine games. While Rui Hachimura got 19 points and LeBron James scored 25 points and nine assists.

The Lakers are ninth in the Western Conference; thus, they would need to win two play-in games to get to the main playoff stage. However, they are making an effort to rise ahead. Los Angeles trailed Phoenix and Sacramento by one and a half games entering Wednesday.

On the other hand, the Washington Wizards were coming into this match with a win on Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. Going into the game Washington Wizards were leading 19-8 but

Washington was coming off a nice win over Milwaukee on Tuesday night, and the Wizards made their first five 3-point attempts against the Lakers. Washington led 19-8 early on, and Los Angeles issues worsened when Davis took a stray elbow from Wizards 7-footer Tristan Vukcevic and remained on the court for a few moments.

Davis change the course of game

However, Davis was able to continue playing, which was a setback for Washington. The Wizards had the size to cope with him, and Davis controlled the remainder of the quarter. By the end of the game, he had tried and hit 11 free throws, and the Lakers led 39-29.

The Lakers had withdrawn Le Bron James and Davis, and the game appeared to be in control until the Wizards scored eight consecutive points to make it 125-120. James and Davis returned with 17.4 seconds left after Los Angeles made a turnover. 

The next match for the Los Angeles Lakers is on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, While for Washington Wizards will face the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.
