The 2025 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix is complete, with Oscar Piastri winning the race for the first time in Sakhir. McLaren enjoyed the double podium despite Lando getting a 5-second time penalty. But they missed finishing 1-2. The track was well-suited for McLaren, while most other teams struggled during the race. Now, we have ranked the top 5 winners and losers of the F1 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. Surprisingly, top teams like McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull failed to clinch the first place. Check out the list below.
Here are the F1 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix winners and Losers
Winners
1. Haas F1
The team that impressed us the most was the Haas F1 team, which managed to secure a double point with Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman finishing inside the top 10. Ocon started from P14 and finished in P8, while Bearman started from P20 and finished in P10. Ayao Komatsu is happy with their strategy to carry the long run and finish inside the points.
2. Ferrari
Many questioned Ferrari when they opted for medium tyres during the race start. Charles Leclerc clearly struggled with the car at the start, but as the race went on, the car showed more grip and allowed the drivers to attack and gain positions. The longer strategy also worked for them, as both Lewis and Leclerc brought huge chunks of points from the race.
3. McLaren
The only disappointment for them would be Lando Norris finishing in P3. Other than that, everything was in their hands. Oscar Piastri drove brilliantly without any mistakes and gave McLaren an easy victory in what everyone calls one of the toughest races. Lando and Oscar are now leading the driver's championship, while McLaren is the constructor's leader.
4. Mercedes
Their strategy didn’t work well today, and if it had not been for George Russell, they would have lost the race badly. The British driver is one of the best out there, and his racing skills helped them to finish in P2. Kimi Antonelli showed some promise, but with the penalty he received for exceeding track limits, it was already over for him.
5. Alpine
Pierre Gasly gave his life to keep his position against Max Verstappen. The French driver was the only reason behind Alpine scoring its first-ever points this year. After starting from P4, Gasly brilliantly saved his tyres and continued his good run at Sakhir. With Alpine scoring points, all 10 teams have points this F1 season.

F1 2025 Bahrain GP Losers
1. Red Bull
The Austrian team was the biggest loser after yesterday's race. They had no pace all weekend, and their strategy also failed them. The costly pit stop has pulled down Max Verstappen from scoring big at the driver's points table. If Red Bull had done a better job, Verstappen would have at least secured a P4 finish. But fans are happy for Yuki Tsunoda as he clinches his first-ever points for his new team.
2. Kick Sauber
The future Audi team is now struggling with pace and balance, just like the Red Bull team. The car handling is ridiculous, and most of the time, it depends on the drivers. Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg lost places on the opening lap and were unable to recover. A big track like Sakhir is not a good playing field for a team like Kick Sauber.
3. Aston Martin
From the start of the season, Aston Martin was not even in the competition. Lance Stroll brought them points in Australia and China. But they completely missed out in the last two races. Veteran and F1 legend Fernando Alonso has yet to open his account this year. They will keep their hopes on Adrian Newey to bring some new updates and improve the car.
4. VCARB
The junior Red Bulls had a great start, with Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar gaining positions. But their strategy spoilt their race, as both their drivers finished out of the points table. The next race will be in Saudi and the track there is one of the fastest in the world. VCARB has a great chance to get back their momentum.
5. Williams Racing
Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz came very close to finishing inside the points table. But Sainz had a collision with Yuki Tsunoda, breaking his side pods and bringing in the safety car. But overall, the circumstances didn't go in their favour, and they were out of the points table.
