The 2025 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix is complete at the Sakhir International Circuit. McLaren was the quickest, and despite troubles changing the tyre and penalty, they managed to finish inside the podium. Oscar Piastri won the race ahead of George Russell and Lando Norris. The race was messed up with multiple penalties from a number of drivers. The track was the biggest reason for all the confusion among teams and drivers.
After all the debacles in strategy and issues, Max Verstappen did a great job in bringing the well-deserved points for his team at P6. The FIA stewards were busy noting the drivers and giving them penalties. Oliver Bearman is clearly the driver who impressed us the most as he finished in P10 after starting in the last position.

2025 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix Race summary
Race Start
The opening lap was interesting as Lando Norris started out of his grid box, which was duly noted by his championship rival, Max Verstappen. The Stewards also noted Norris starting out of the box and gave him a 5-second time penalty. But the McLaren driver didn't care, as he felt he had great pace in his car. Oscar Piastri, George Russell and Norris had a great start, while Charles Leclerc struggled with his medium tyre and braking. Max Verstappen lost position to Carlos Sainz but again regained it.
Strategic blunder by Red Bull
Red Bull did a big blunder in choosing the tyre for Max as he was pitted and was given hard tyres that didn’t have any pace at all. He lost positions and was frustrated with the strategy. He was again brought back, and the nightmare continued.
Ferrari’s brilliance
Ferrari were brilliant as they initially started with medium tyres, went for a bit longer, and again changed to mediums. Both Lewis and Charles gained positions. Again, the safety car helped Ferrari as the two drivers changed their tyres to hard and again regained positions.
The Restart
At the restart, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton battled for the position, where Lando lost place and overtook Hamilton outside the racing line. He gave back his position to Lewis and the Ferrari driver moved to the top 3. Lando again overtook Hamilton and got his position back.
Oscar wins at Sakhir
With all the drama at the back happening, the Australian Formula 1 driver was clearly getting past his rivals and won the race. The final few laps were thrilling, where Lando Norris moved past Charles Leclerc and clinched the podium. Max Verstappen was also brilliant in his final run and managed to finish P6 ahead of Gasly.
Fastest Lap Winner: Oscar Piastri (McLaren)
Driver of the Day: Lewis Hamilton is the driver of the day.
Race Highlights & Key Moments
Red Bull made a disastrous pit stop strategy for Max Verstappen, as the hard tyres didn’t help him. Bad luck followed him as he lost more time in tyre changes.
Overtake battles: Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz battled, and the Dutch driver overtook Sainz on the outside. It looked like he was overtaken outside the racing line. But Stewards didn’t identify any issue. Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc battled for the podium, but the McLaren was too good.
Pit stop strategy: Every team followed a two-stop pit strategy. Teams used soft, hard and medium tyres. Sakhir’s tarmac was laid even before Kimi Antoenelli was born, and it is grinding the tyres, causing them to overheat.
Crashes, Penalties or Retirements: Yuki Tsunoda collided with Carlos Sainz, ending his race. Liam Lawson also collided with Alex Albon and got a time penalty. Kimi Antonelli got a penalty for crossing the race limits multiple times. Lando Norris had a false race start and was penalised.
Weather impact: The weather wasn’t great for racing, as the desert cooked the drivers inside out. Only a little bit of breeze helped them on the straights.
