Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc went to a fan meet in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. There, the two shared a bizarre story about them playing chess in bed. Charles Leclerc started the conversation by revealing that they often play chess in their free time. Leclerc’s story says the two drivers were lying in bed, which are different beds. The Monegasque driver was in Monaco, and Hamilton was in London on a plane travelling to Japan. The two drivers played chess and finished 4-4.

Charles was so sleepy and wanted to go to bed, while Hamilton wanted to play one more game to decide the winner. Hamilton carried the narration, the two played the final game, and Leclerc’s moves were outstanding. Then, Hamilton started to search online and get expertise from AI before making his next move. Lewis went to a website that predicted Charles Leclerc’s next moves, and Hamilton used that to play. But again, Leclerc’s moves were so good, so they both continued playing. 

Leclerc says the bot that he used to play against Lewis was very bad so even after cheating, he lost the game. And both of them found out that they were cheating on each other all the time and started laughing. Chess has become an important part of sports athletes' lives, as many play the game to train their minds to become calm and patient. Formula 1 drivers always fight with high adrenaline and pressure. Playing chess will calm their mind, but this bizarre cheating story of Lewis and Charles sparked laughter among the fans at the Bahrain GP.

Charles and Lewis were seen playing chess at the O2 arena during the Formula 1 75th anniversary event. The two Ferrari drivers became very close and are often spotted together chatting and laughing. The two have a big responsibility to lift Ferrari up the table in today’s Bahrain Grand Prix race.
