One of the most brutal and grueling incidents in Formula 1 history was the death of F1 legend Ayrton Senna in 1994. This even changed the course of Formula 1 as the FIA stepped in and introduced a new set of regulations protecting the drivers from huge accidents. But it was too late, as we had already lost one of the great racing talents in Senna.
The Brazilian drove the Williams car designed by renowned Formula 1 designer guru, Adrian Newey. The previous day, Senna lost his dear friend Roland Ratzenberger in qualifying. Ayrton was leading the race, and he kept an Austrian flag inside his cockpit to remember his friend after the race. When Senna approached the Tamburello corner, his steering column broke, which caused him to lose control of his car.
He crashed heavily into the concrete barriers at a very high speed. The impact of the crash and the debris from his car pierced his helmet and went inside his head. Many believe Senna died on the race track that day. Even when he was taken to the hospital in a chopper, his blood was flowing down like rain from the helicopter, and many media journalists witnessed the incident live.

Now, a throwback video has emerged showing what happened during the accident. The video shows the race marshalls taking Senna out of the car and tying him for chopper rescue. His car designer, Adrian newey, bursted into tears after seeing the fatal accident. It was a very emotional moment to see one legend crying for another.
Newey, who now joins Aston Martin as the Managing technical partner, has many times opened up about what happened during the fatal incident that day. Newey still feels what part he played in Ayrton Senna’s death as he was the designer of the Williams car. But even after all these years, Senna still lives in millions of people’s hearts and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest F1 drivers.
