Indian actor and racer Ajith Kumar is racing in the 2025 24H World Endurance Championship. He owns a team named Ajith Kumar Racing and he is one of the four drivers. The team won the podium by finishing third in the first race held in Dubai. They competed in the 991 category and became India’s first-ever racing team to reach the podium.
Ajith Kumar did not Participate in the race for his team due to a crash during the practice session. But he raced for an individual team in the GT4 category and won the ‘Spirit of the Race’ award. After being out of Professional racing for more than 15 years, Ajith is now back and wants to try many racing leagues.
One of those leagues was the Sprint challenge in Portugal's Estoril and Portimao race circuits. He completed the Portimao race and is now in Estoril. This is the track where F1 legend Ayrton Senna won his first-ever Formula 1 race in the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix for the Lotus-Renault team.
Ajith Kumar’s racing hero was Ayrton Senna just like Lewis Hamilton and the actor remembered the legend before starting his first lap. Ajith Kumar Racing and Red Ant are competing in the Sprint challenge. He was asked about his feelings on the last race weekend in Estoril.

Ajith Kumar said, “It’s good to be racing here in Estoril track circuit, where Ayrton Senna won his first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix. It’s very surreal to be sitting here in a car in the same circuit and it’s a proud moment.” Ajith was then asked about the challenges in Estoril compared with the Portimao circuit as he had a huge accident before the race.
Ajith said, “True, it is a very technical circuit especially the last sector is extremely technical but I’m glad my timings are getting better. It has been a good weekend so far and of course, this morning was pretty disastrous in practice when I crashed. But thanks to mechanics and my team they put together and have to go straight for the qualifying. So that’s quite nerve nerve-wracking moment.”
AK was very happy that the fans started following car races after getting inspired by him and gave heartfelt thanks to all of them. The Actor’s recent movie ‘Vidamuyarchi’ was released and became a big hit. But Ajith continues his passion for racing and will be seen in many races.
