The stage is set for the second round of the ongoing triple header of Formula 1 2024. It is race weekend in Austria, where extra points are up for grabs in the Sprint sessions. However, ahead of the qualifications, Williams F1 duo Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant were in a mischievous mood at the Red Bull Ring.

In a video shared by Formula 1’s official page, Albon, armed with a ping pong ball and a table tennis racquet, was seen plotting along with his American teammate to disrupt ongoing interviews. Albon targeted Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg but hesitated, fearing the wrath of Kevin Magnussen. Albon nervously remarked, “If it’s not him, let's do it.”

Here is the video:

Despite their elaborate planning, Albon’s attempt to hit Hulkenberg failed. Hulkenberg, meanwhile, remained unphased, continuing his interview where he was humorously and deliberately giving wrong answers. He was heard saying, “Is a lion an elephant? Name something that is not an elephant… NOT an elephant… Yeah, but it’s wrong answers only…”

Alex Albon hopes for the best in the upcoming weekend

Alex Albon has been keeping an eye on the skies this weekend, aiming to capitalize on two scoring opportunities. “As we leave Barcelona and head to Austria for the second round of the triple header, we hope to bounce back after a tough weekend,” Albon commented.

“With Austria being a Sprint weekend and potential weather factors, there's a chance for a good result. On paper, this track suits our car more than Barcelona, so let’s see what the weekend brings.” Meanwhile, Logan Sargeant said, “I'm looking forward to heading back to Austria for the second race of the triple-header.”

He also added, “It should be a better track for us than Spain, and it's always an exciting track to drive with plenty of quick corners and long straights. The Sprint Race will open up some extra opportunities, and it looks like some rain could affect the race on Sunday, so it's all to play for.” However, Albon's antics, although unsuccessful, added a touch of humour to the pre-race tension, showcasing the lighter side of Formula 1 amidst the competitive atmosphere.
