In the bustling paddocks of the Belgian Grand Prix 2024, a noticeable scene unfolded as Max Verstappen engaged in a highly animated conversation with his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, commonly referred to as GP.

The exchange, which took place just outside the Red Bull garage, caught the attention of onlookers and sparked considerable speculation about the topics of their discussion. This lively interaction comes on the heels of a contentious incident at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Here is the video:

During Hungarian GP, Lambiase had labelled Verstappen's behaviour as "childish" after the Dutch driver attempted to blame Lewis Hamilton for a collision. The tension from that moment appeared to linger, contributing to the intensity of their recent discussion.

Max Verstappen is set to face Grid Penalty!

Adding to the pressure, both Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda are set to face significant grid penalties for the Belgian Grand Prix. Verstappen has moved onto his fifth internal combustion engine (ICE), while Tsunoda is now utilizing his fifth ICE, turbocharger, MGU-H, and MGU-K, in addition to his third energy store and third set of control electronics.

According to Formula 1 regulations, drivers who exceed the allotted number of power unit elements incur grid penalties. The first instance of surpassing any of the seven power unit elements results in a 10-place grid penalty, with subsequent infractions resulting in a five-place drop. Cumulatively, this means Verstappen is set to face a 10-place grid penalty, whereas Tsunoda will be starting from the very back of the grid.

Notably, during the FP1 and FP2 of the ongoing Belgian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen showcased his skills on the track. He clinched the top of the timesheet in FP1 while finishing 3rd in FP2 as McLaren dups of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris dominated the session.
