According to reports, Daniel Ricciardo is in his last legs for the VCARB Formula 1 team as the new Zealander Liam Lawson could replace the Australian after the Singapore GP. After the Singapore GP, there is a four-week gap for the United States Grand Prix, which is a good time for the youngster to adapt to his new team.

Red Bull Supremo Helmut Marko, speaking about the possibility of Ricciardo getting replaced by Lawson, said, “We have an idea, but we have to wait until singapore. It is still September, but from Singapore, we will have a precise idea. It will be quite clear as to what will happen with the second seat.”

Liam Lawson’s Red Bull contract

There are two clauses in Liam Lawson's contract. One is him signing for a race seat by the end of September. If he doesn't he will be racing as a free agent. Another will be a disaster for Daniel as Liam Lawson will be guaranteed the minimum number of races this year. After the singapore GP there will be 6 races remaining in the 2024 F1 Calender.

Talking about the rumors surrounding his F1 Career Ricciardo said, “If it ended today, I would be proud of what I’ve done. But on the same note, you're never fully satisfied because the reason I got into Formula 1 was to try to become a world champion. That is something I’ll obviously still try and achieve until the day I retire.”

Formula 1 Grid for the 2025 season is almost full. Only the second seat for VCARB Formula 1 team and Audi F1 team will be available. So Daniel Ricciardo's options are either to be the teammate of Yuki Tsunoda or Nico Hulkenberg.

Ricciardo could also be replacing Sergio Perez who is struggling in his Red Bull. In the last race, Ricciardo was let down by his team after a strategy blunder by the them of putting him on a long run on hard tires. Then was changed to mediums which degraded quickly than they expected.  This costed him as he finished 13th in the azerbaijan Grand prix this year.
