But many teams are against the inclusion of an 11th Formula 1 team as they think it could take away a chunk of money from them at the year-end. Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff is one of the leading members who is against the entry of Andretti in Formula 1. Toto Wolff said, “We have an obligation. The standpoint is the best for our company and our employees. If GM decides to come in as a team owner, that is a different story. And as long as it's creative, that means we’re growing the popularity of the sport, Were growing the revenue of the sport, then no team will be ever against it.”

The Mercedes Boss doesn't like the idea of Andretti entering Formula 1 instead of GM's name. He added “I know GM. GM is great. The discussion is between FIA, the team, and FOM. it's not our choice.” He feels GM should be the owner, not Andretti Global. General Motors will be joining Andretti Global as Andretti Cadillac F1. They will be the Customer team of Ferrari in 2025 and 2026 and from 2027 they will be coming with their own engine. But unlike Mercedes and Red Bull who were against Andretti entering Formula 1 McLaren and Ferrari are very welcoming.

McLaren boss Zak Brown said, “They've got a great history in Motorsport, General Motors.” Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur also welcomed GM entering Formula 1 with their Cadillac brand. The biggest motivation for GM to enter Formula 1 was to popularise the Cadillac which is the Luxury car division of General Motors in other markets, especially the European Markets.
