His teammate George Russell started P2 but in Lap 35 he had a water issue that allowed Hamilton to go for the lead.
The constant weather changes and perfectly executed Tyre strategy helped Lewis Hamilton to get the lead over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris. He won the British Grand Prix for the ninth time and secured the most wins on his home soil. This was also the first win after 945 days since his 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
4. 2020 Turkish Grand Prix - 7th Championship and wet weather masterclass

Many drivers couldn't keep their cars on the road because of the track condition and rain made it even worse. Lance Stroll took his first pole position for Racing point and Lewis started from P6.
Ferrari and Red Bull messed up with their tyre choices helping Hamilton to take the lead easily after the race start. His exceptional tyre management helped him stay ahead of Sergio Perez and Sebastian Vettel. He finished P1 in one of the toughest races with a 30-second lead. He also won his seventh world championship and equalled Michael Schumacher’s record.
