The most thrilling season, we saw in recent times was the 2021 championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The Brit was chasing his eighth world title, while Verstappen was chasing his first-ever F1 title. The Battle went to the final race in Abu Dhabi, where both drivers were at equal points. Whoever wins the race will take the championship home.
Verstappen lost his lead during the start and Lewis was flying away. In the last five laps, the nightmare started for Lewis Hamilton when Nicholas Latifi crashed his car bringing the safety car. Race director Michael Masi gave a controversial call to allow the lapped cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap themselves and start the race. Verstappen with fresher tyres overtook Hamilton and won the championship ending the 7-time world champion reign in F1.

Everyone is talking about the F1 2025 season and many predict this year will be a four-way battle for the championship. But it has already happened in history before during the 2010 F1 season. Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel all four drivers were in contention for the championship.
It all went to Abu Dhabi with Alonso and Hamilton having the bigger chance of clinching the F1 title. But they failed during the race as Sebastian Vettel finished first and won the world title. McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari driver Felipe Massa were the title contenders. The Brazilian wanted to win the final race in Sao Paulo to become the world champion and Lewis Hamilton needed at least a fifth-place finish to secure the championship.
Rain Interrupted and Felipe Massa was already in a huge lead secured the race. Hamilton was running fifth and suddenly Sebastian Vettel attacked Hamilton and took the lead. Hamilton was pushed to sixth and was running behind Toyota driver Timo Glock. But due to dry tyres, Glock lost control in the final corner and Lewis went to the lead finished fifth place and won the championship.
4. F1 2007 season - Closest win ever

Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari had to battle the McLaren duo, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. That was Lewis Hamilton’s rookie season but it didn’t look like one because of his sheer pace and domination. He even dominated his teammate and reigning world champion Alonso.
In the final race, Hamilton had to finish 6 or higher to win the title. Hamilton qualified second and was well set for his first championship victory in his first-ever F1 season. But tragedy struck on Lap 8 when his car had mechanical issues pushing him to 18th place. He could only finish seventh and eventually lost the title to Raikkonen by 1 point. This is the closest-ever title victory in F1.
5. F1 1988 - The Greatest Rivalry

1988 was the greatest F1 season of all time, as McLaren had the two greatest drivers Prost and Senna in their team. The two drivers brought 15 race wins out of 16 races and both are fighting intense battles with each other for the championship.
