The Son of 5 times world champion gets only a 5 race chance in the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Jack Doohan is the son of 5-time MotoGP world champion Mick Doohan. He will be racing for the Alpine F1 team next year as the main driver replacing Esteban Ocon.

Next year Formula 1 grid will be full of rookies as so far many teams have adopted the trend that was set by the Mercedes team by signing Kimi Antonelli for the next season. Red Bull brought in young Liam Lawson for their VCARB team mid-season after the Singapore Grand Prix in place of underperforming Daniel Ricciardo. Sauber Signed Gabriel Bortoleto in place of Valtteri Bottas for the next season. Haas signed the young chap Ollie Bearman for the 2025 Season alongside Esteban Ocon.

Son of Mick Doohan

Alpine will also have a young rookie named Jack Doohan. Some might have been familiar with the name and no surprise in that. Doohan is the son of 5 time MotoGP world champion Jack Doohan from Australia. The legend was known to have ended the American rider's domination in the MotoGP. 

But his son Jack Doohan needs to prove himself to stay one among the grid next year. The young Australian will be given only a 5-race chance next year and after that, the decision stands with the Alpine F1 team as they have many academy drivers including Indian Driver Kush MainiWilliams Driver Logan Sargeant was replaced by Franco Colapinto mid-season as the American was underperforming this year. Doohan could also face the same kind of mid-season axe if he doesn't prove himself. 

Many assumed the Australian was signed for a complete season. But the 5 race deal came as a shock to everyone. Many academy drivers are waiting for a Formula 1 seat and the competition has made Alpine change their mind and reduce the contract period for Jack Doohan.

It will be a huge Pressure for Jack Doohan to perform next year. He will race in Australia, China, Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as per his contract. If he doesn't perform well, he could be replaced by Flavio Briatore and demoted as a reserve driver.
