The 2025 Formula 1 driver's lineup is complete with Red Bull inviting Liam Lawson to join their team and fill his seat at VCARB with F2 driver Isack Hadjar. Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda are the prime contenders for the senior team and they went for the new Zealander snubbing the Japanese driver.
Many fans are frustrated over the treatment of Yuki Tsunoda and are slamming them for their decision. Yuki was the dominant driver at VCARB than Liam Lawson during the F1 2024 season. Though Yuki Tsunoda and Liam were teammates for just 6 races, the Japanese driver scored more points and brought good results to the team.

2024 was the best season for Tsunoda as he scored 30 points and finished 12th in the drivers standings. Liam Lawson was preferred over him as the team management feels Lawson will be the perfect driver for Red Bull to handle pressure. Red Bull chief advisor Helmut Marko says, “I think Yuki can be really fast, but it's not very consistent. But he improved in all areas. He also reduced his emotional moments on the radio, and he also improved his technical feedback. So he must be more, as I said, consistent, and less incidents.”

Possible Axe after 2025
Many believe Red Bull is just keeping Yuki for the sake of their partnership with Honda which ends in the 2025 season. From the 2026 season, Red Bull will have a new partner Ford and build their own engines. To add more fuel to fire Red Bull boss christian Horner has hinted at a possible sack after the 2025 season.
Honer said, “We’re actually aware that if we’re not able to provide an opportunity for Yuki - being in all honesty, this year (2025)- does it make sense to keep him? You can't have a driver in the support team for five years. You can't always be the bridesmaid. You’ve either got to let them go at that point or look at something different.”
This says he could be removed from the team after the 2025 season. It's not a surprise as many fan theories actually say that. Honda is joining Aston Martin as their engine partner and Yuki could see his future at the British team. For now, Yuki will have a new teammate Isack Hadjar for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
