Liam Lawson was recently signed by Red Bull for the 2025 F1 season, leaving a vacant spot at the RB Bulls. The team doesn't need to search for new drivers, as Formula 2 runner-up and Red Bull Academy driver Isack Hadjar will replace Lawson for next year. Yuki Tsunoda will have a fourth teammate in three years, which is terrible for him. In the last three years, Tsunoda has teamed up with Nyck De Vries, Daniel Ricciardo, and Liam Lawson and now will have Isack Hadjar as his new teammate.
With him, the 2025 Formula 1 grid is complete, leaving Franco Colapinto and Sergio Perez out of the season. Isack Hadjar was just 0.5 points behind F2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto before the final race in Abu Dhabi. But at the start of the race, his car had some major issues and didn't move an inch. It cost him his F2 title against the Brazilian, but Red Bull management is backing him with a driver's seat in their junior team for the 2025 season.
Isack Hadjar finds a seat in F1
He will follow the pathway of 4-time world champions Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen to start from the junior team. Red Bull's most successful drivers, like Vettel, Verstappen, and Ricciardo, all started in the junior category and were slowly promoted to the senior team based on their performances.

After signing for the team, Isack Hadjar said, “I’m very excited to step into my new role at VCARB. This is huge for myself, my family, and all the people who have believed in me from the beginning. I feel like I’m stepping into a whole new universe, driving a much faster car, and racing with the best drivers in the world.”

He added, “It’ll be a huge learning curve, but I’m ready to work hard to do the best I can for the team.” Isack also mentioned working with Yuki Tsundoa, whom he admires from the start, saying, “I look forward to working with and learning from Yuki. I’ve always looked up to him; he went through the Red Bull junior programme like myself, and we’ve shared a similar path to F1. He’s very experienced and will be good to learn from.”
Team Principal welcomed Iscak by saying, “We’re excited to have ISack with us next year, bringing a new and fresh dynamic to the team alongside Yuki in 2025. I believe Isack and Yuki will make a great team. His journey to Formula 1 is outstanding. He has shown remarkable growth, with a series of impressive results in the junior single-seater ranks.”
