Red Bull management is frustrated with Perez’s poor form and decided to replace him with Liam Lawson for the 2025 season. He won't drive for the VCARB team either as F2 driver Isack Hadjar will take Lawson’s place in the RB Bulls team. Apart from all these, Checo’s contribution to the team is much bigger as Red Bull won 3 driver's titles and 2 constructors championships with his help.

Perez will still be in Red Bull

Even after his exit from the team, Perez is likely to keep his ties with the Austrian team. He will take up an ambassadorial role for the team and will be involved in the 2025 Formula 1 season. He will participate in many roadshows by driving old Red Bull cars on the streets of major cities to promote the brand.

Horner also admits that Perez was not sacked from the team. He said “No, it's a little different to that. Sergio has been with us for four years and, for the first three years, he played a huge role in the team and certainly that first driver's world championships." The team boss remembered Perez’s contribution during the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix which was crucial for Max Verstappen to win his first world title.

He also said Sergio Perez decided to step back from racing for a little period to have some time with his family. Perez signed a deal extension with Red Bull last June but christian says some clauses cannot be said to the public. He also believes the Mexican can return to the grid fresh and with a new mindset in the 2026 season.
