When talking with Gilchrist, he was asked about his battle with Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. And talking about that win, Piastri took a swipe at India’s Virat Kohli. He said, “It has been a cool year, and that was a highlight—I didn't cop a hip and shoulder for trying to take him on either, so that was good,” and laughed.

Oscar mentioned Virat Kohli’s shoulder bump on Sam Konstas during day 1 of the Boxing Day test match. He said he can't do the same during racing as it would be a big collision between the two drivers and he could get banned for doing that.
The Aussie Formula 1 driver also spoke about the issues when racing for a British team, especially during the Ashes time. Piastri said, “Being in a British team, there is a lot of banter going on, especially when the Ashes are on. I've been to the Boxing Day test once before, but only a couple of years ago. I came to a few 20/20s and dayers when I was a kid, but then I was away for ages in Europe. It's nice to be back, and it's my first time properly out in the middle during the cricket season, not only footy season.”
During his visit to the iconic ground, the McLaren driver also took the steering wheel of the Camera Rover during the 70th over of India’s innings when Nitish Kumar and Washington Sundar were fighting for India. Piastri also said when he was growing up he was more of a bowler than a batter.
