McLaren Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri announced the heartbreaking loss of his dear one in an Instagram post. The Australian driver was one of the key finds of McLaren last year, as he won two races in Hungary and Azerbaijan. Oscar is the only Australian driver after Daniel Ricciardo to win a Formula 1 race. The 2024 season was the most successful year for McLaren, as they won the constructors championship after 26 years.
Their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, finished 2nd and 4th in the drivers championship. McLaren beat Ferrari and Red Bull to become the fastest team in the grid. This year they aim to repeat their good form from the start of the season to secure both drivers and constructors championships. In 2024, Piastri was like a wingman to Lando Norris, as he felt his teammate had a better chance of winning the world championship against Max Verstappen. But in 2025 he is expected to throw himself into the arena and fight for the title.

Heartbreak for Oscar
As he prepares for his new challenge, Piastri is heartbroken after losing his dear one. His dog Rosie has passed away and the Australian shared the grieving news on his social media post. Oscar wrote, "Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Rosie recently but Basil is still keeping us on our toes."
While Piastri was heartbroken by the loss of his dog, the world champion Max Verstappen welcomed a new dog, Nino. It will join his three cats, Jimmy, Sassy, and Donatello. During a live game streaming session, the Red Bull driver said, “His name is Nino, but he’s gone for a while now. I put his food here and then he wasn't interested in me anymore!” Max will become a father this year as he and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet announced the news of becoming parents through their social media. 2025 will also be the most important year for Verstappen, as he will defend his world title for the fifth time.
