The only Formula 1 team to become the most successful within a short period was Mercedes F1. They entered Formula 1 in 2010 after the exit of Brawn GP. From the 2014 season, Mercedes became one of the biggest forces in the pinnacle of Motorsports. They are also the biggest engine suppliers, having teams like McLaren, Alpine, Aston Martin, and Williams F1 as their customers. In the last decade, they are the number 1 team in Formula 1, having won 7 world titles and 8 constructors championships in a row. The Silver Arrows became the team to beat since the 2014 Formula 1 season.

Having an operational Headquarters at the Brackley in the north of London, Mercedes has a tradition of launching its Formula 1 cars at the ‘Home of Formula 1’ Silverstone. They have been keeping this tradition since the 2017 season. But this year they won't launch their W16 car at the Silverstone track because they will launch their cars at Formula 1’s 75th anniversary event. Then they will test at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain.

The pre-season testing event takes place on February 26 to 28. Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will be testing the new W16 cars at Sakhir and not in Silverstone. So Mercedes fans waiting to see the silver arrows on the traditional Silverstone track should wait a little bit longer until the British Grand Prix.
Current regulations allow teams to run their new cars for up to 200 km. So George and Kimi can drive up to 36 laps at the Sakhir circuit. London’s O2 Arena will host the F1’s 75th Anniversary launch event on February 18th. All 10 teams will reveal their cars along with their drivers. This will be the first time in Formula 1 history that every team will launch their F1 cars on the same day. 2025 is also the last year with the current regulations and from 2026 we will have new machines with new designs and power units that are quieter and smaller.
