McLaren and Red Bull are fighting an intense battle on track to clinch the Formula 1 Drivers and Constructors titles. Recently, the Red Bull Team has raised an issue regarding McLaren’s front wing and rear wing which are flexing at high speeds helping the car to gain downforce and top speed.

In the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, many spectators noted that the car's rear wing is rotating backwards opening a slight gap and helping the vehicle get pace in straights. Many believe the rear wing's design may be legal but the wing flexing and opening gap without DRS is illegal. FIA took action by asking McLaren to make some minor changes to its wing so it wouldn't flex. Even in the Singapore GP McLaren lost its chance to get a grand slam win as Red Bull’s Sister team RB stole the fastest lap of the race award from McLaren.

McLaren boss Andrea Stella criticized the move by the RB team. He questioned whether it was a championship fight or a coalition championship fight. He raised issues of Red Bull and their junior team together partnering in a highly competitive Formula 1 race.

The order may have come from the top boss Christian Horner during the race. Because of Ricciardo’s fastest lap now Red Bull’s Max Verstappen could finish every race in second place and still win the championship. Ricciardo also Joked if Max wins the Championship by one point it's the biggest Christmas gift he can get.

Peace Talks Above 30000 ft

After all the drama there seems to be peace right now between the teams. McLaren’s Boss Zak Brown and Red Bull’s Christian Horner boarded the same flight to the UK after the Singapore GP. Both were given the same pyjamas in flight.

Brown on his social media posted “Peace in F1 has been restored on the flight home. Where’s Netflix when you need it? But the battle will continue on track. What an awesome sport!.” 'Drive to Survive' was a Netflix series which shows the insights and fights between the teams during the race more closely. We may see this year's fight between McLaren and Red Bull in next year's drive to survive the season.
