Then Lawson passed Sergio on the main straight and showed the middle finger to the Mexican which was recorded on the camera. Many fans slammed Liam Lawson for behaving badly and called him an immature guy and nasty driver. After the race, Liam Lawson talked about his behaviour during the race and said it came out of frustration and admitted he shouldn't have done that. The New Zealander said “It's obviously one of those in-the-moment things.

He spent half the lap blocking me, trying to ruin my race, so I was upset. But it's not an excuse. I shouldn't have done it, and I apologize for that.” Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko was not impressed with Liam Lawson for his behaviour on track. He said “It was an unnecessary collision, where I see Lawson as being more to blame. If it had been someone else, yes. But not the sister team.” On the other hand, Sergi Perez blamed Lawson completely for his actions during the race. He said “I left him space into Turn 4 and was coming very, very late. Honestly, I tried to give him space.

He drove me off the track, and then he didn't give me space since turn 5. So, you know, it's unfortunate about the tension, but I don't know where he wants me to go.” Liam Lawson had a heated moment with Fernando Alonso at the US Grand prix where he overtook Fernando Alonso by pushing him off the track which cost Alonso 2 positions. Alonso had a heated argument with Liam Lawson after the race.
