Leclerc clinches pole while Sergio Perez gets P2 as Verstappen faces penalty, check final qualifying result of Belgian GP

In a thrilling qualifying session, Max Verstappen set the fastest time with a lap of 2:01.565. However, due to a 10-place grid penalty, he will start in 11th position. This means Charles Leclerc, who produced an impressive lap to go P2, will start on pole.

Following him are Sergio Pérez, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, George Russell, Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, and Esteban Ocon in positions 3-10. Notably, McLaren's Lando Norris, despite being in good form, only managed P5, which will translate to a P4 start on race day.

Mercedes avoids a huge mistake!

In the comparatively dry session, George Russell narrowly escaped elimination in Q1, securing P7 with a late push. He was in the bottom five with just a few minutes left. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda was eliminated along with Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Logan Sargeant, and Guanyu Zhou, who occupied the bottom five positions (16-20). 

It was a close call for Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton too, who finished in 13th and 14th, respectively. The top three performers in Q1 were Oscar Piastri, Pierre Gasly, and Max Verstappen, showcasing strong performances as they advanced to the next qualifying round. Notably, Tsunoda has been handed 60 60-place grid penalty.

Sergio Perez escapes Q2 trouble!

In a thrilling Q2 session, Sergio Perez narrowly escaped elimination by just 0.003 seconds, edging out Alex Albon who finished 11th. The Red Bull driver breathed a sigh of relief as he advanced to Q3. The bottom five drivers eliminated in Q2 were Albon, Gasly, Ricciardo, Bottas, and Stroll.

Lando Norris also had a close call, finishing in eighth. The top three performers in Q2 were Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell, showcasing their prowess and securing their spots in the final qualifying session.
