Amid the ongoing Belgian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has responded to recent criticism from Lewis Hamilton regarding his conduct during the Hungarian GP race. The Red Bull driver, who had openly criticized his team's strategy over the radio, found himself at odds with Hamilton as the two battled for a podium finish.

The tension between the drivers escalated when Hamilton commented on Max Verstappen's behaviour, implying that a world champion should conduct themselves differently. "Not like it was last weekend," Hamilton remarked when asked how a world champion should act, reflecting on Verstappen's visible frustration and vocal discontent during the race.

Verstappen, a three-time world champion, addressed these comments when speaking to Viaplay. He was unfazed by Lewis Hamilton's remarks, stating, "You know what it is, everyone can have their opinion. That's all fine, but I can't do anything with that." Verstappen emphasized that he doesn't see it as his problem and prefers not to dwell on it, choosing instead to move on. "It's all resolved and we'll just get on with it," he added.

The Dutchman also commented on his public disapproval of Red Bull's race strategy, acknowledging that he hasn't paid much attention to the external reactions. When asked if his outspoken nature was a deliberate tactic, Max Verstappen responded affirmatively, noting that he has his own way of handling things. "For me, it is, anyway," he said, adding that everyone is entitled to their opinions and that he simply goes about his business in his way.

Verstappen further highlighted the importance of detaching from the racing environment, mentioning his time in Monaco as a much-needed break. "I go home, I do my thing. It was nice to be in Monaco for a while, too," he remarked, indicating that he values his time away from the track.
