The Italian Grand Prix is set to be the second race in the back-to-back F1 double-header that marks the beginning of the 2024 season’s second half. Following a rain-soaked weekend at Zandvoort, the weather conditions for Ferrari’s home race at Monza appear more favourable, though some uncertainties remain.

Here is the weather forecast for Monza weekend:

Friday, August 30: Free Practice 1 & 2

The weekend kicks off on Friday with promising weather. The day is expected to start mostly sunny, but high-level clouds may increase by the afternoon, creating partly cloudy conditions. This day is predicted to be the hottest of the weekend, with temperatures soaring between 33°C and 34°C during FP1 and slightly cooling to 32°C-33°C during FP2.

The conditions will be accompanied by a light southerly wind, which should have minimal impact on the track. Crucially, there is no significant chance of rain on Friday, allowing teams to focus on fine-tuning their setups in dry conditions.

Saturday, August 31: Free Practice 3 & Qualifying

Saturday's weather will be cloudier compared to Friday. Convective clouds are expected to dominate the skies throughout the day, adding an element of unpredictability. While it is likely to remain dry for the most part, there is a slight possibility of a shower during the afternoon.

Temperatures during FP3 and qualifying are anticipated to hover around 32°C to 33°C, with a minimal chance of rain—less than 20%. Teams must keep a close eye on the evolving cloud cover as even a brief shower could significantly impact qualifying outcomes.

Sunday, September 1: Race Day

Race day at Monza may bring conditions that challenge teams and drivers alike. The day will start partly cloudy but is expected to turn mostly cloudy by noon, with convective clouds becoming more threatening as the afternoon progresses.

As the race approaches, the chances of showers increase, particularly in the early afternoon, with a 20% chance of rain. Temperatures at the start of the race will be around 31°C, with a light northerly wind potentially influencing strategies, particularly if the track begins to cool.
