APX GP team driver Sonny secured a podium at the final race in Abu Dhabi alongside Ferarri’s Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver George Russell. We are talking about the Reel F1 season where Apx GP wins the championship instead of the McLaren F1 team. Hollywood actor Brad Pitt starring in the ‘F1’ Movie is filmed alongside the real Formula 1 races. Their racing movie is being filmed on many tracks like Silverstone, COTA, Singapore, and Las Vegas. Earlier, during the weekend Brad Pitt crashed the team photo shoot of Ferrari and Alpine and took photos with them.

Now the season is over and the movie is scheduled for a release next year in June. They did one final shoot at the Abu Dhabi Grand prix. This time the podium winners were different as Brad Pitt played Sonny Hayes is the winner and he was alongside Charles Leclerc and George Russell.

Abu Dhabi GP Fake podium

The Monegasque rider was very unhappy after he failed to win the race and the constructors championship for Ferrari. He was made to hide his sadness and act with multiple takes with the actor. Pitt is wearing a white suit resembling the Mercedes team, Leclerc and Russell also completed their filming with some smile and champagne. Javier Bardem who also stars in the movie as the APX GP team principal was seen on the podium screaming and spraying champagne.

After the filming, Brad Pitt gave an interview to Ted Kravitz where he said “Its been incredible that F1 and all the teams have put up with us and let us embed ourselves in the race week. I remember a year and a half ago, I was a little bit hesitant and didn't want to get in anyone's way, now I’m just like, ‘We’re at work’.

The movie is backed by Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes, and Apple and will be released next year. Before its release, the film will be shown to the F1 drivers in a special arena. Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired F1 driver who again comes to racing to train a young rookie driver, Joshua Pearce played by Damson Idris for APX GP.
