Formula 1 enthusiasts around the globe have received an exciting sneak peek into the forthcoming Apple Films production, simply titled ‘F1’. Scheduled for theatrical release next summer, this highly anticipated movie promises to delve deep into the world of Formula 1 through the fictional lens of team APXGP.

Headlined by Hollywood heavyweights Brad Pitt as seasoned driver Sonny Hayes and Damson Idris portraying rookie sensation Joshua Pearce, ‘F1’ boasts a stellar ensemble cast. Joining them are acclaimed actors Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon, supported by Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.

Here is the trailer:

To coincide with the British Grand Prix, Apple Studios premiered the film’s first teaser trailer, providing a tantalizing glimpse into the high-octane drama and behind-the-scenes intrigue of the F1 universe. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and with involvement from F1 icon Lewis Hamilton as a producer, the film has garnered unprecedented access to F1 paddocks and events over the past two seasons.

Filming is yet to be completed for the F1 movie!

In a unique blend of fiction and reality, specially modified Formula 2 cars adorned in the fictional APXGP team liveries have graced the Silverstone circuit during dedicated filming slots, mirroring actual F1 sessions.

This immersive approach extends to the Silverstone paddock, where a mock team motorhome and hospitality suite stand alongside those of genuine F1 teams. Notably, Pitt and Idris were even granted access to the drivers’ briefing, underscoring the film’s commitment to authenticity.

The cinematic journey of ‘F1’ will continue to unfold throughout the 2024 season, with filming slated at upcoming races in Hungary, Belgium’s iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Mexico City, and the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. Culminating at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, these locations will serve as dynamic backdrops for capturing the essence of Formula 1 at its pinnacle.

Anticipation is already building for the global cinematic release of ‘F1’ on June 25th, 2025, with North American audiences getting a preview two days later. As the countdown begins, fans can expect ‘F1’ to deliver an exhilarating blend of adrenaline-fueled racing action and compelling human drama, set against the backdrop of the world’s most prestigious motorsport series.
