Ex-Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has turned into a race mechanic during the Formula 1 2024 post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. In his last race for Ferrari, he secured a podium finish in P2 along with his teammate Charles Leclerc and ex-teammate Lando Norris. The Spanish driver was performing very well for the Maranello team, but Lewis Hamilton’s entry has shown him the exit doors. After some intense search for a driver seat, Carlos Sainz has secured one with the Williams team.

Carlos Sainz into the Williams

Initially, he aimed for the Mercedes F1 team, but they already announced Kimi Antonelli as their new driver, replacing Hamilton. Williams has been a very close partner of Mercedes since the 2014 hybrid era. So if he does well in the 2025 season, he could also move to the main team Mercedes and join George Russell.

With many plans in his mind, Carlos is working tirelessly to develop the Williams car. He was the fastest driver during the post-season testing, and that too with a Williams car. This shows how good he is, and the British team has done a good job to have his services develop themselves.

He was also very involved during the testing session, as he asked many questions to learn about the car, telemetry, power unit, aerodynamics, and many more. Fans appreciated the Spanish driver for working hard. Carlos is simply an underrated driver in Formula 1. He started his career with Torro Rosso with Max Verstappen as a teammate. The Dutchman got a promotion, but the Spanish driver had to stay in Torro Rosso.Β

He joined Renault (now Alpine) in the 2017 mid-season, replacing Jolyon Palmer. He did very well in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, scoring regular points and helping the team finish ahead of Haas. But was replaced by Daniel Ricciardo from Red Bull in 2019. Sainz then joined McLaren and again made a good impression but was replaced by Ricciardo in the 2020 season.

In 2021, he got the biggest opportunity in his career when Ferrari parted ways with the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Sainz was exceptional in Ferrari, scoring points continuously and finishing on the podium with four race wins. Now he was replaced by Lewis Hamilton.

The most impressive part about Carlos Sainz is that he never fails to impress people and fans wherever he goes. It started during his time with the Red Bull team. We hope the Spaniard will again get an opportunity with a big team and see him fight for the world championship.
