The Formula 1 testing session happened in Abu Dhabi as every team tested their 2025 machines with their drivers. The big surprise came in when Carlos Sainz drove his Williams and outpaced Leclerc and Norris by setting the fastest lap time of 1.24.436s. Charles Leclerc was retained by the Ferrari team for the 2025 season and beyond. His teammate Carlos Sainz lost his contract as Lewis Hamilton is coming into the team. Sainz was given an emotional farewell from the Maranello team and joined the Williams.

The testing session happened with many rookie drivers driving the new Formula 1 machines. For the Mclaren team Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Pato’o’ Ward were the drivers. Ferrari had Charles Leclerc, Arthur Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco. Red Bull tested their cars with Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar, and Mercedes had George Russell, Frederik Vesti, and Kimi Antonelli as drivers. The Aston Martin's tested with Felipe Drugovich and Jack Crawford.

Sainz dominates Leclerc and Lando
The Alpine team drivers are Jack Doohan and Paul Aron. The Haas drivers are Esteban Ocon and Ryo Hirakawa. The RB Bulls team tested their cars with Liam Lawson and Ayumu Iwasa. Williams Racing did with Carlos Sainz and Luke Browning, and the Kick Sauber team tested with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. Though the testing session is just like a warmup, Carlos Sainz is still very determined to win. Leclerc came second ahead of Lando Norris and Jack Doohan in Third and Fourth.

Vesti and O’ward finished fifth and sixth in the testing. Fuoco, Bortoleto and Browning came in seventh, Eighth and Ninth positions. Alpine test driver Aron came tenth ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, Isack Hadjar and Drugovich. Liam Sawson, Crawford and Iwasa came in 14th, 15th and 16th positions. Nico Hulkenberg, George Russell and Hirakawa came 17th, 18th and 19th. The final four drivers are Esteban Ocon, Kimi Antonelli, Arthur Leclerc and Oscar Piastri.
