Franco Colapinto’s arrival in Formula 1 has created confusion among many teams on the grid. The Argentinean put up a strong show in every race he raced for Williams and now many teams are willing to get him. The biggest problem is the driver's lineup for the 2025 season is almost over. Only the VCARB team is yet to confirm their second driver next to Yuki Tsunoda. More or like it will be Sergio Perez or Liam Lawson.

Red Bull dearly wants Colapinto

Recently, the Red Bull team principal was seen coming out of the Williams F1 garage. Team boss Christian Horner was asked whether they are on a hunt for Carlos Sainz and the boss said Sainz will stay in Williams next year.

Then it clearly shows he went there to grab Colapinto for the Red Bull team. The 21-year-old driver came as a replacement for Logan Sargeant and impressed everyone by scoring points in the few races he raced for the Williams team.

Williams has already signed Carlos Sainz for the 2025 season but team principal James Vowels was very keen to find a seat for Colapinto next year. With Sergio Perez underperforming this year Red Bull was looking to replace him with a new driver.

Many rumors have erupted as Christian Horner wants Colapinto to be the number 2 driver for Red Bull next year. If that happens next year then it will sake up the entire grid. If Colapinto comes to Red Bull then Liam Lawson will have a complete season at RB team next year. Whoever performs best will be the number 2 driver for Red Bull in the 2026 season with the new regulations and engine partner.

Sergio Perez could be demoted to be a reserve driver for the Red Bull team as he is still having a year-long contract with the Austrian Manufacturer. Like Sergio Perez, Franco Colapinto is very famous in Latin America so it will be a good replacement for Red Bull. But it is not that easy as rumors claimed James asked 20 million from the Red Bull team to release Colapinto next year.
