Ahead of the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix 2024, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur opens up about his detailed plan to outplay Red Bull at Monte Carlo. The regening constructor’s champions have won five out of seven races this season and have faced some challenges from McLaren.

However, despite being the third fastest car on the track Ferrari is keen to fill the gap with Red Bull. With some encouraging performance at Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Ferrari is now looking for a comeback at Monaco.

Speaking about it team principal Frederic Vasseur said, “I think that the competition will be everywhere during the season. The set-up of the car will be crucial next week in MonacoThe performance of the driver will be crucial.”

Will Ferrari’s new upgrades work?

Ferrari introduced a major upgrade package at Imola to maintain its upward momentum. However, with the competition at the front being very tight, Vasseur emphasized that the team must accelerate its upgrade pace to stay competitive with the frontrunners.

Speaking about it Vasseur said, “What is true is that we are at the point now where we will have to speed up the development because imagine that someone could bring an upgrade one race before when you have three teams in one-tenth you can jump from P5 to P1.”

“It means that we will have to speed up the time. We already discussed the race for this, and it will be crucial. But we also have to pay attention that we are now chasing the last hundreds. It’s not anymore, an upgrade (SF24) at five-tenths. It means that you also have to be sure that what you are bringing is working. It will be the key factor for the next couple of events”, he further added.
