The recently concluded Emilia Romagna Grand Prix has been very eventful for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen. Three-time world champion Verstappen struggled a lot in the initial practice session before qualifying with the pole and taking the checkered flag on Sunday.

Apart from in-race struggles Verstappen also faced some unavoidable crowd interactions which forced him to show his middle finger to two Ferrari fans. However, after the incident, Ferrari fans have now issued an apology in not-so-conventional manner.

In a video shared by them on social media platforms, they thanked Verstappen for his response. “We just want to apologise for being idiots. I gave you the thumbs down,” one of them said. His friend said: “We want to say that we are sorry.”

“It’s our fault, not your fault, for showing us the middle finger. We were so proud of the middle finger you showed us!” They further added: “We want to say thank you, Max. After that, you became a legend in our eyes.”

Ferrari failed to compete against McLaren

Talking about the weekend which Ferrari was hoping to be there didn’t go like what expected. After upgrading eight components of their SF24 Ferrari was hoping for a GP win but they had to settle for P3 and P5.

Charles Leclerc finished third behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris. Notably, the team will be keen to earn big at Monaco later this week as F1 is now set to see another street race of the season in Monte Carlo this week.

Verstappen is defending champion while Lando Norris is surely improving his performance. This season Verstappen has been struggling in slow corners and it will be an opportunity for both McLaren and Ferrari to earn big at the Crown Jewel event of F1.
