In the Practice 1 Classification round for the Austrian Grand Prix 2025, McLaren had a great outing due to a good performance from Oscar Piastri and an exceptional driving from the F2 racer, Alex Dunne, who finished third and fourth, respectively. Mercedes-Benz's George Russell won the race, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished just behind him.

Russell finished with a timing of 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 0.542 seconds in 33 laps. Verstappen took 30 laps and maintained a gap of +0.065 to finish second. Piastri and Dunne maintained a gap of +0.155 and +0.224 in their 33 and 29 laps, respectively. 

Alpine's Pierre Gasly finished fifth by maintaining a gap of +0.238 in 33 laps. Kick Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto and Williams' Alex Albon finished sixth and seventh in 34 laps, respectively. Albon's teammate Carlos Sainz finished eighth, while Ferrari's star driver Lewis Hamilton and Racing Bulls's Isack Hadjar finished 9th and 10th, respectively.
