The Delhi Capitals team are now playing a do-or-die match against the mighty Mumbai Indians to stay in the competition. The start of the IPL 2025 season was great for them, but in the middle phase, momentum broke, and they lost some crucial matches, which has brought them to this stage.
But apart from cricket, they are also focusing on the Formula 1 2025 season, and we all know who they support this year. McLaren is their favourite team this year because of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Delhi bowler Mitchell Starc came up with the idea of gifting Oscar and Lando a signed Capitals jersey ahead of the 2025 F1 Monaco GP.

The two McLaren drivers are also very fond of cricket and even played a cricket match. Oscar Piastri is a very big fan of the IPL, and every year he supports the team with the most Australian players. Last year, he supported the Delhi Capitals team, and they even wore the team jersey. He also recognised the young talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his century this year and even kept him in his Instagram story.

As Starc went to each player to sign their jersey, DC mentor Kevin Pieterson gave a special message to Norris and said Lando Norris is his favourite Formula One driver because he plays golf very well. Mitchell Starc said he has no advice for Piastri, as he is the dominant one on the grid.
He also wished to see his fellow Australian at the Lord's this year as he stays in the UK with the McLaren team. He also remembered Nathan Lyon and him bowling to Piastri in the nets and wished to have another net session with the Aussie driver.
Finally, Karun Nair wished the team all the best for this year and said he is happy to see McLaren back at the top after many years. Starc completed with a ‘Go team Papaya’. McLaren is now the best team on the grid, and Oscar and Lando are leading the title race against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. If Oscar wins the championship this year, he will be in history and will become an Australian national hero.
