Formula 1 has officially announced a new 24-race calendar for the 2026 F1 season. The season starts with the Australian Grand Prix, which kicks off on March 6, 2026, and ends with the traditional final race in Abu Dhabi on December 6, 2026.

The F1 2026 season will be more advanced, and the cars will have a different power unit compared to the turbo-hybrid engines used in the current era. It will have an increased battery power along with the ICE engines that will use fully flexible fuels.

But the sad news will be the omission of the Imola Grand Prix from the calendar. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is one of the oldest GPs in Formula 1. Madrid will replace Imola from next year, which means Italy will host only one race from the 2026 season. At the same time, Spain will be hosting two Formula 1 races from the 2026 season, in Barcelona and Madrid. Which will be the new Spanish GP?

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said, “Next year’s FIA Formula One World Championship marks a significant new chapter for our sport. A new race, new teams, and the arrival of new manufacturers, all ushering in a fresh era of innovation and competition. The debut of Madrid, the arrival of iconic brands like Audi, Cadillac, and Ford, and the introduction of the next generation of F1 cars powered by 100% advanced sustainable fuels signal an exciting new era of racing.”
