2025 MotoGP Qatar GP FP1 results: Marc Marquez back in first after COTA disaster

The 2025 MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix started with the first free practice session at the Lusail International Circuit. Marc Marquez found his mojo back and is leading the table with the fastest lap time with a Factory Ducati. After losing out the COTA Grand Prix with a silly mistake, Marquez wants to win the Qatar GP to keep his lead in the title against his brother, Alex Marquez. Di Giannantonio and Bagnaia are the other two riders with Marquez.

FP1 summary

The biggest highlight of the session was reigning world champion Jorge Martin returning to racing after suffering an injury pre-season in Barcelona. But he was uncomfortable with the ride as he seemed hurt by the injury when taking cornHe did his best and finished in P20, ahead of Raul Fernandez and S. Chantra. Championship leader Alex Marquez came fourth fastest ahead of Vinales and Morbidelli. Luca Marini and Joan Mir showed some glimmers of hope for Honda Racing. The next session will be in a few hours.
