Many called Marc too greedy in pushing the bike to its limits even though he was leading the race by more than 2.5 seconds. Alex Marquez tried hard, but the sheer pace of the factory Ducati bike found no match, and Bagnaia opened his first victory at the Americas GP in the 2025 MotoGP season.

2025 Americas GP Race Summary
The Opening lap was amazing, with Marc Marquez getting a great start and entering the first corner as the leader. Giannantonio once again lost his position to the two Ducatis of Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia. Last year's COTA winner Maverick Vinales had a problem with his bike, and he started from the pits. By lap 4, Pecco Bagnaia got some split stream, launched at Alex Marquez and gained P2.
Lap 9 was a shocker as Marc Marquez crashed out with a 2-second lead over Baganaia, who is running P2. The Spaniard missed a huge opportunity to win his eighth race in COTA. Marquez was pushing his Ducati bike too much, and while running over a kerb, he skidded and lost his lead to Bagnaia. In this incident, he lost his right foot pedal. He retired from the race on lap 13, which was disappointing. His streak ended with this crash, and Alex Marquez took the championship lead from his brother.
In the later stage, Johan Zarco and Fermin Aldeguer crashed their bikes and were out of the Grand Prix. Finally, Francesco Bagnaia, with his calmness and patience, won the COTA Grand prix and his first in the 2025 MotoGP season. The first two races have been a downfall for Bagnaia against Marquez, and this win will boost his confidence level to take on his teammate in the upcoming races.
