Qualifying Summary

2025 Australian GP: Qualifying 1

The session started with Max Verstappen setting the fastest lap time with his Red Bull car while his teammate Liam Lawson struggled to keep his car on the track. The Haas F1 team’s nightmare weekend continued, and Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman were the first to be eliminated by the end of the session. Liam Lawson only managed P18 behind Kick Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli.

2025 Australian GP: Qualifying 2

In Q2, Lewis Hamilton spun in the middle of the track, costing Gabriel Bortoleto, the first driver to get eliminated, followed by Jack Doohan and Lance Stroll. Fernando Alonso and Iscak Hadjar gave their all but could only come P11 and P12.

Oscar Piastri set the fastest lap time during that session but was later compromised by his teammate, Lando Norris. Ferrari drivers Leclerc and Hamilton made it through the Q3. Williams's drivers continued their impressive performance and entered the Top 10. Yuki Tsundoa was the again impressive to finish inside the Q3.

2025 Australian GP: Qualifying 3

The Final qualifying session started with the top drivers of the 2025 grid battling it out for the provisional pole position. But as expected, the McLaren duo of Oscar and Lando ended up on the podium with a McLaren 1-2 finish. Red Bull driver Max Verstappen once again proved why he is the best by finishing on P3 ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell. VCARB driver Yuki Tsunoda stunned everyone by finishing P5 ahead of the two Ferraris. Red Bull were made to eat their own words on Yuki Tsunoda’s pressure handling capabilities.

Leclerc and Hamilton tried hard but lost time on the kerbs. Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz were the final two drivers with P9 and P10. As 100% rain is expected tomorrow, it will be a great opportunity to witness the rain dance of Max Verstappen. Can the two McLarens keep their domination, or will Max Verstappe win the Australian Grand Prix with his driving? Let us wait and see tomorrow.
