Australian Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri was on fire as he became the fastest driver in Free practice session 3 in Albert Park, Melbourne. The 23-year-old Melbourne-born driver was the fastest man of the session and is expected to repeat the same in qualifying. Surprisingly, Mercedes driver George Russell and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen also came in the fast with P2 and P3. Mercedes and Red Bull were the third and fourth fastest teams on the grid, next to McLaren and Ferrari.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc came in fourth fastest after securing pole in FP2 yesterday. It is expected that he will improve in qualifying, as it might rain all day. Whoever comes in first will have an added advantage on wets as the possibility of overtaking is less.

The 18-year-old young driver Kimi Antonelli was the fifth fastest, and he should be proud of his performances in FP3. William’s drivers continued their impressive performances as Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon ended up in P6 and P7 ahead of Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton at P8.

Again, Yuki Tsunoda was excellent with his results, as he came in ninth fastest, ahead of McLaren driver and Championship favourite Lando Norris in P10. Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto came in 11th, ahead of Alpine driver Pierre Gasly and Isack Hadjar in 12th and 13th place.

Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll was the 14th fastest man, and he beat Alpine driver Jack Doohan in P15 and Kick Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg in P16. Veteran Fernando Alonso is still struggling with his Aston Martin car and ended up in P17 just ahead of Haas Driver Esteban Ocon in P18.

Red Bull driver Liam Lawson and Haas driver Oliver Bearman didn't compete in the session. The next step is qualifying, and as it is expected to rain tomorrow, teams will be careful with their setups as it could affect their race tomorrow. High downforce is needed in wet conditions, but at the same time, it affects the lap timings in normal conditions.
