The most impressive driver of the session was VCARB driver Yuki Tsunoda, who came P4 even higher than his sister team drivers Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson. This is a real statement from the Japanese driver who may lose his seat at the end of the year. The Other VCARB driver, Isack Hadjar, finished in P6 behind his idol Lewis Hamilton. Overall, VCARB did a brilliant job to outpace Red Bull in the FP2 session.
Max Verstappen struggled with his rear grip and ended up in P7 ahead of Nico Hulkenberg and Lance Stroll in P8 and P9. Mercedes driver George Russell was quiet during the session and finished the 10th fastest. Williams driver Carlos Sainz, who impressed us with P2 in FP1, could only deliver P11 this time. His teammate Alexander Albon was P12 behind him, followed by Fernando Alonso, Jack Doohan and Pierre Gasly. The Australian driver was brilliant in both the sessions and has kept his teammate behind him.
Kimi Antonelli was the 16th fastest ahead of Red Bull driver Liam Lawson. Kiwi had many issues controlling his car, especially coming out of the corners. Let’s hope he will catch up with Verstappen very soon; otherwise, his life will be unpredictable at Red Bull. Kick Sauber driver Gabriel Bortoleto came P18 and the Haas driver Esteban Ocon was the last as his teammate Oliver Bearman didn’t arrive to the track due to a huge crash he sufffered during the FP1 session.
