The man with a smile and charm on his face, Daniel Ricciardo, will no longer be a part of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) – formerly AlphaTauri- in the upcoming season. With that said, this season of 2025 will be the first when the VCARB will be heading to the track without Ricciardo in their lineup.
Now, the management replaced Ricciardo with the young Kiwi racer Liam Lawson. It looked like a tough call from the RB management, but it also reflects the demanding and fast-paced culture of sports where the teams are supposed to take some hard calls.
Speaking of Lawson’s outings at the Grid, he was in the top-ten finishes on two occasions out of his six appearances for RB during the last season.

Meanwhile, the Kiwi sensation also revealed the name of the only driver who spoke with him to congratulate him after the promotion to the RB seat. Lawson confirmed that it was none other than the man, Daniel Ricciardo himself, who he replaced in this promotion.
“I actually spoke to Daniel a lot when it was happening. I will always have so much respect for him,” said Lawson to GQ Australia in a recent exclusive interview.
Furthermore, Lawson also revealed how Ricciardo maintained his stature by not reacting to any of the rumours or developments regarding this entire promotion and replacement process.
“Throughout the whole ordeal, from when the rumours started to when they were confirmed, he never said a bad word about or towards me. He never made it about me and him because, at the end of the day, it wasn’t our decision. It’s up to the team and what they decide to do. He was so good to me through all of it,” he said.
“Fast forward to December, when I got the Red Bull seat, and Daniel is still the only driver, past or present, to send me a message about it, congratulating me. It says a lot about him as a person,” he added later.
