Advertisment

WWE SummerSlam 2025 will be historic, as the company will host its first-ever 2-nighter summer event at the MetLife Stadium. The occasion will be grand, and hence, all major titles will be on the line. All four world titles are set to be defended, while 3 mid-card titles and both tag team titles will be up for grabs on either night of the event.

As per the tentative match card, three titles are set to be defended on Night 1, while all six matches on Night 2 will be fought for titles. Barring the Women's United States Champion, Giulia, all champions will defend their title, which means a good chance of major title changes. Some of the biggest WWE Superstars of the company are likely to lose their titles.

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio became the Intercontinental Champion after pinning his fellow Judgement Day star, Finn Balor, in a Fatal 4-way match at WrestleMania 41. As a revenge for it, Balor could cost Dom his title at SummerSlam in his match against AJ Styles. Moreover, it will provide an opportunity for WWE to book John Cena vs Styles at Clash in Paris for the IC Title.

John Cena

John Cena beat Cody Rhodes in the Main Event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Since his farewell tour is nearing, WWE could be pushing for different stories and opponents for the 17-time world champion, which means him dropping his belt. There is a good chance of a double turn, leading to him resorting to being a Baby Face.

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch beat Lyra Valkyria at the Night of Champions to win the Women's Intercontinental Championship and went on to successfully defend it at Evolution 2 against the latter and Bayley. At SummerSlam, there will be a rematch of the Night of Champions, and The Man is likely to drop the belt, which could make Valkyria a major star in the Women's roster.

Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton had a brilliant start to 2025, as she cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax on the first SmackDown episode of the year to become the world champion for the first time in her career. The star wrestler has surpassed 200 days as a champion with a mediocre title reign, which could come to an end at SummerSlam against Jade Cargill.

Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez

Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez are very highly likely to lose their Women's Tag Team Championship due to many reasons. Liv Morgan, who has been out of action due to an injury, could return and cost the duo. It would also mean the team of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss winning the tag gold, which will elevate the entire Women's Tag Team Division.
