On the 2nd of August 2025, the WWE SummerSlam 2025 took place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The night started with the tag team match between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns against Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, which saw the former Bloodline duo win. What followed was the Women's Tag Team Championship match, which was won by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.

Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton took on each other for the world title, in which the latter defended her title. Sami Zayn finally overcame Karrion Kross by claiming a win over him via pinfall. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul beat Jelly Roll and Randy Orton in the tag team match that had some great spots, including the celebrity wrestler taking many bumps.

The Main Event of the night was for the World Heavyweight Championship between CM Punk and Gunther. While the Second City Saint claimed a win over the Ring General, it lasted for just a little over 5 minutes, as Seth Rollins successfully pulled off the Ruse of the Century. Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam 2025 was a mixed bag with some great and mediocre matches.

Result: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss became the new Women's Tag Team Champions

Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill for WWE Women's Championship

Result: Tiffany Stratton extended her world title reign by claiming a win over Cargill via pinfall

Result: CM Punk beat Gunther with a double GTS to claim the world title. However, his reign lasted a little over five minutes, as Seth Rollins cashed in his MITB Contract to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
