'We're not boys no more, we're men' - Heath Slater urges Triple H to bring back Nexus (Source: X)
Heath Slater urged Triple H to bring back Nexus in WWE. The former Nexus star spoke for the faction and claimed the members of the faction to be more mature than they were in the past. He asked Hunter to give a thought about the return of Nexus and the consequences it could have on the business of the company.
"Listen WWE, Hunter, think about it, we’re not boys anymore, we’re men. Imagine if we came back," said Heath Slater. It caught the attention of the fans, who felt bringing back Nexus in 2024 did not have a purpose. Fans put forth the fact that most of the Nexus members are well past their prime.
The faction had the likes of Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Heath, Ryback, David Otunga, and others might not be well received by the fans today. Moreover, the fans felt that some of them were not even appealing in 2024 as wrestlers, while many of them have been out of action for a long time.
Will Nexus return to WWE?
On one hand, many claimed that the old Nexus in 2024 might not make any sense, others pushed for the return of Nexus with new members. The idea was put forth on Ethan Page becoming the new leader of the faction and then challenging John Cena during the retirement tour somewhere around Summerslam.
John was included in the discussion as many believes him to be responsible for the end of Nexus. Supercena in 2011 overcame all the members of Nexus at the same time at Summerslam, a move which is claimed to be an act of burying the faction.
Many went on to get pushed after the breakdown of the faction, others became irrelevant. Fans felt a new crop of wrestlers could benefit a lot with the return of the Nexus. Some of the NXT stars can make their main rosters debut through the faction. Under Hunter, fans expected to see a better booking than the faction got during the Vince McMahon era.
