WATCH: Kurt Angle honors Liam Payne of One Direction by sharing clip of their wrestling match

Kurt Angle, who is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, has had a great career. His outstanding rookie season solidified his status as a wrestling legend. He also got the chance to wrestle famous people, like as Liam Payne, and he honored Payne following his death.  Despite his retirement from professional wrestling following his match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35, Kurt Angle took the time to express his admiration for Liam Payne, a former member of One Direction. At the early age of thirty-one, Payne unfortunately died.

Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, following what was believed to be a fall from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Investigators have identified "multiple trauma" and "internal and external hemorrhage" as the causes of the death for Liam Payne. The man's life could be in jeopardy since his room has a balcony, according to the police call. Not long after rescue personnel arrived, Payne fell from the balcony. In addition to other severe injuries, the medical staff reported a cerebral fracture, which caused his death right away.

Kurt Angle has previously engaged in a wrestling match with Liam Payne while the latter was still a member of One Direction. Their album, Midnight Memories, was promoted with this action. He used this time to respond to the young star's tragic passing. On X (previously Twitter), the WWE veteran stated that competing against Payne was an honor for him. Payne, dressed in a mask, won the bout after hitting a modified head-scissors finisher on Angle.

The WWE Hall of Famer also related how, when filming skits, Vince McMahon forced him and Stone Cold to remain in character. The wrestlers used to try to coerce one another into acting out of character, but McMahon threatened to penalize them if they did. Fans worldwide will never forget what Liam Payne done for the music industry, and the WWE Hall of Famer will always respect and appreciate Payne regardless of the situation. Angle continued to do so, but after receiving a fine, he understood that he needed to quit or risk running out of money.
