WATCH: Joe Hendry's debut named WWE NXT moment of the year

Joe Hendry's debut was named WWE NXT's Moment of the Year. The TNA star appeared as one of the entrants in the Battle Royal to be the number one contender for Trick Williams. The match was a nightmare for Hendry as all his opponents teamed up and eliminated him in seconds. Joe went backstage and complained Shawn Michaels of mistreatment.

Hendry was teased to be in the competition. And when it happened, the fans went crazy and delivered a loud pop. The NXT fans sang Hendry's song and welcomed him to WWE. Hendry claimed he was in the arena to win the match. However, the NXT Superstars did not like a TNA star saying it to them in their roster.

Hence, all the participants in the ring teamed up and eliminated Joe Hendry combined. Fans did not like it a bit and booed the wrestlers and the NXT management. Hendry went backstage and had a conversation with HBK. He claimed himself to be the lone warrior against the entire NXT.

Joe Hendry's rise in TNA and NXT

Shawn accepted Joe's accusations and claimed he believed in him. As soon as Hendry showed up on NXT, the fans went crazy on social media. It was one of the most viewed and liked segments of the year on X, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

While fans were happy with Hendry showing up on NXT, many were angry with the fact that he was eliminated in seconds. In the weeks to come, Hendry was loved by the fans and got to face some of the best talents on the roster like Ethan Page, Shawn Spears, and so on.

Hendry also got a shot at the NXT title when Page was the champion. He headlined the PLE but could not get the job done. That was Hendry's last appearance on NXT. He continued to do well in TNA and won the TNA Male Superstar of the Year award. 2024 was indeed an unforgettable year for the emerging star.
