Grayson Waller reacted to Australia's win over India in the Boxing Day Test at MCG in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. The WWE Superstar posted an Instagram story and expressed his joy over Australia's thrilling win. With one match left in the series, the home side have a lead of 2-1. India is in a must-win situation to win the Sydney Test.
Waller is known to be one of the most passionate cricket fans among the WWE Superstars. When the Elimination Chamber 2024 took place in Perth's Optus Stadium, he wore the Australian jersey of the ODI World Cup 2023 and entertained the home fans. He also gave a reference to the Ashes series in a past segment.
Waller took to Instagram and posted a story of Australia's winning moment in the Melbourne Test. The original post belonged to a collaboration between Cricket Australia and MCG featuring Nathan Lyon's appeal to dismiss Mohammad Siraj. The post had the song 'Do You See What I See' in the background.
Australia beat India in the Boxing Day Test, Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25
Australia won the toss and batted first in Melbourne. They posted a good total of 474 runs on the board on the back of a good hundred from Steve Smith. For India, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers who claimed 4 wickets. In reply to it, India scored 369 runs in their first innings.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Yashasvi Jaiswal starred for India by scoring 82 and a hundred respectively. For Australia, the trio of Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland picked three wickets each. Australia managed to score 234 runs after being reduced to 91/6 at one stage in their second innings.
While Marnus Labuschagne scored a 70, Cummins and Lyon scored 41 each. Bumrah starred with the ball again by picking 5 wickets. India had to chase 340 runs to win. They aimed for a draw and were 121/3 with a session of play left in the day. But an unreal collapse ensured Australia won by 184 runs.
